Honor My Parents – Thank-you Card
DETAILS BELOW
Help youth learn ways they can honor their parents and defend truth and right like Helaman's two thousand warriors. Read in The Book of Mormon: Alma 56:47. Help youth create and give to their parents or loved guardian this thank-you card that reads, "I am like the army of Helaman. I have been taught in my youth. Thank you for your guidance!"
TO MAKE Print, color, and cut out the Thank-You Card for each youth. Fan-fold card where indicated, then glue first and second flaps back to back. The card can be placed in a legal-size envelope.
THOUGHT TREAT: Courage Chewing Gum. Write, Alma 56:47 on strip of paper and glue it to the wrapper of a stick of chewing gum for each youth. Tell them that if they “chews” to have faith in Jesus Christ and “chews” the right, they will have the courage to defend truth and right.
Alma 56:47 “Now they never had fought, yet they did not fear death; and they did think more upon the liberty of their fathers than they did upon their lives; yea, they had been taught by their mothers, that if they did not doubt, God would deliver them.
TESTIMONY: Share your testimony of the blessings that come through following the righteous teachings and examples of our parents.
