YOUTH LESSON ACTIVITY. STAND AS A WITNESS – WHO IS ABINADI? Prophet poster. Youth can fill in the story as they learn how this bold, brave Book of Mormon Prophet Abinadi testified that Jesus Christ would come to redeem the world. King Noah and his wicked priests would not listen (except the Priest Alma). They tried to stop him from testifying but they were stopped through divine power.
ACTIVITY: Have the youth look up the scriptures on the poster and write the answers to the questions in their own words.
Especially focus on the question “What important things did Abinadi teach (Mosiah 13:12-25)?” He testified of Jesus Christ.
THOUGHT TREAT: Giant Prophet Cookie. Make gingerbread men cookies and decorate them to look like Abinadi. Talk about ways Abinadi boldly testified to the wicked King Noah and his priests about Jesus Christ and the commandments (Mosiah 12:33-36 and Mosiah 13:11-24).
TO MAKE Print or copy and color the Who is Abinadi? Prophet Poster for each youth.
*SCRIPTURE CARDS: Help children Search and Ponder this scripture card by filling in the blanks. PRINT this 5 x 7 scripture card from the pdf included with the above activity. You can punch the two holes on the left and tie a ribbon to attach cards or use two metal rings to connect cards.
