How Can I Help My Ancestors Come Closer to Jesus Christ?
LESSON PART 2 Teach the Doctrine: Prepare Yourself Spiritually
The objective is to get youth excited about family history and temple work.

This BUNDLE is to give youth leaders many activities to teach the above theme for the bi-weekly lesson.
Look for these activity handouts to help you teach lesson concepts and give them TEACHING TOOLS to plan and develop lesson objectives. These lesson-match interactive activities will add to and enhance your lessons.
LESSON-MATCH ACTIVITIES IN THIS BUNDLE INCLUDES (detailed below):
DESCRIPTIONS:
(1) YOUTH GOAL PLANNER. LEARN ABOUT YOUR FAMILY HISTORY. The youth can plan visits with their relatives to learn family stories and details about their ancestor’s ordinances performed. Example: Baptism and temple marriage and the sealing of parents to children.
(2) MEMORIZE SCRIPTURE. John 3:5 rebus scripture poster/card set. Jesus Christ set the example for us to be baptized. When we are baptized by immersion we make a covenant or promise to Heavenly Father; then receive the Holy Ghost who can guide us to help us return to heaven (God’s kingdom). REBUS picture/message in John 3:5: “Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”
(3) SCRIPTURE MEMORIZATION. “THE FAMILY: A PROCLAMATION TO THE WORLD” paragraph 3 scripture poster/card set. Youth can learn “Sacred ordinances and covenants available in holy temples make it possible for individuals to return to the presence of God and for families to be united eternally.”
(4) POST-AND-PRESENT ACTIVITY. CELESTIAL BLESSINGS Sunshine Show-and-Tell. Youth complete the sentences after the word “because …” found in the sun’s rays. For example, “When I see the temple I feel Heavenly Father’s love because … “I know that in His temple I can make covenants to return to Him.”
