This BUNDLE is to give youth leaders many activities to teach the above theme for the bi-weekly lesson.
Look for these activity handouts to help you teach lesson concepts and give them TEACHING TOOLS to plan and develop lesson objectives. These lesson-match interactive activities will add to and enhance your lessons.
LESSON-MATCH ACTIVITIES IN THIS BUNDLE INCLUDES (detailed below):
(1) Live the gospel. What topics has the bishopric discussed in our ward youth council meetings? What can we do as a class or quorum based on those discussions?
ACTIVITY: GROUP BRAINSTORMING ACTIVITY. I WILL BE A SERV”ANT” toss and tell. Youth can know that by serving others they are serving God (Mosiah 2:17). Players can TOSS a bean or a raisen (as it looks like an ant) into the ANT sack and TELL a way to serve a person, or group of people, or animal. If playing in teams earn a point for the most tossed into the sack (distance according to age).
(2) Care for those in need. How can we reach out to people in Christlike ways when we see a need and don’t know what to say?
ACTIVITY: YOUTH GOAL PLANNER. BUILD OTHER’S SELF WORTH. Youth can use this planner to enter the names of those they wish to acknowledge – telling them of their worthwhile qualities and attributes. Through recognizing others they notice their own qualities and their own confidence grows.
(3) Invite all to receive the gospel. What have we found in the gospel of Jesus Christ that brings us joy? How can we share that joy with others?
ACTIVITY: POST-AND-PRESENT ACTIVITY. COLOR MY LIFE WITH THE GOSPEL Happy Crayons Game. Youth can know that the gospel principles lived will bring happiness. This way we can show our “true” colors as we live the commandments, e.g., tithing repentance, prayer, gratitude, and Sabbath (each matching the Ten Commandments).
(4) Unite families for eternity. What are we doing to find names of our ancestors who need temple ordinances? What can we do to help others find the names of their ancestors?
ACTIVITY: YOUTH GOAL PLANNER. LEARN ABOUT YOUR FAMILY HISTORY. The youth can plan visits with their relatives to learn family stories and details about their ancestor’s ordinances performed. Example: Baptism and temple marriage and the sealing of parents to children.
