ACTIVITY: an Atonement object lesson
Place real objects with Atonement object cards attached, or just the object cards themselves, in a basket or sack. Ask the youth to take turns drawing an object card and reading the scripture on the card. Have them tell the meaning of the scripture and how it relates to the object. Ask the youth to take their cards home, read the scripture, and write the meaning in the blank lines below.

Example: on the coins card—Matthew 26:14–16 they could write:  “Jesus was betrayed for 30 pieces of silver.” Ask children to color one cloth red—“scarlet” (Matthew 27:28–30) and leave the other cloth white—“clean linen” (Matthew 27:58–59).

Gather together the following small objects and attach to each a piece of paper with the corresponding scripture references. Place the objects in a basket or sack, and let each child choose an object and read the scripture. Have the class decide how the object relates to the story of the Atonement.

THOUGHT TREAT Eternal Life “Egg”-stra Special Treat. Give each youth a boiled colored egg.  Tell them that the egg represents a new beginning. Jesus Christ gave his life for us and gave everyone a new beginning, immortality (to be resurrected). Jesus also gave everyone a chance to earn an “egg”-stra special gift, the gift of eternal life. Those who are baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and go the “egg”-stra mile by living the commandments and receiving the temple ordinances can live with Heavenly Father and Jesus again in the celestial kingdom.
