INVITATION
Invite Activity Days youth to this activity using invitation.
Other Uses For This Same Invitation: Use to invite youth to a Family Tree Activity where grandparent(s) or a distant relative is invited – where you find them on your pedigree/family tree chart. Talk about family traditions and stories. Give each person who attends an apple as a symbol of their family tree.
PREPARATION FOR ACTIVITY:
• Print invitations, color them, and give them out a week ahead or have them ready to give to youth at current activity, inviting them to the next.
• Have youth who are more active take the invitation to those less active.
ASSIGN TREATS:
• See matching THOUGHT TREATS below each activity.
• Have youth share their favorite recipes with you and you could make them during Activity Days or have them make them ahead to share.
• With the Activity Days budget have youth help you plan treats ahead for the next activity – hopefully, treats that go along with the goal or lesson theme.

Learning & Living Goal 8 (Part 1 of 3):
Prepare a pedigree chart with your name and your parents’ and grandparents’ names. Prepare a family group record for your family.
Families Can Be Together (Family Tree Pedigree Chart)
1. Print and color the Families Can Be Together Forever: Family Tree Pedigree Chart. Cut on the line where indicated on page A and glue to part B.2. Write the family name on the ribbon.
3. Print and cut out pictures and glue them in the circles above the matching names on the chart.
Learning & Living Goal 8 (Part 2 of 3):
Discuss how performing temple work blesses families.
Fruits of the Temple (Family Tree Decorations – shown on chart)
SHOW-AND-TELL About your very own family tree as you discuss (above objective).
1. Print, color, and cut out the (apples) Fruits of the Temple Family Tree Decorations (shown on the Family Tree Pedigree Chart).
2. Post the fruit on your family tree, showing how performing temple work blesses families.
3. Talk about each as you place them on the tree.
THOUGHT TREAT: Apple-a-Day Family Names. Give youth a challenge to obtain one family name a day to have temple work done. To motivate this have an apple with several toothpicks inserted with names written on slips of paper at the top of the toothpick (for which temple work has been done). They can name someone in their family or someone they know who has had their work done. Thought: Tell youth that for every person they can find who needs temple work done, ancestors or others, and follow through to get that temple work done, YOU and THEY will have their lives blessed forever. Plus, you will be the “apple of their eye” or an “app”ealing friend forever.
Learning & Living Goal 8 (Part 3 of 3):
Share a family story.
Family History (Appealing Family Story Sketch)
1. Print and color the Story Sketch.
2. Write or mount a written family story on the page you wish to share.
THOUGHT TREAT: (Eternity Ring Doughnuts). Serve youth cake doughnuts that represent eternal marriage, having no end, lasting forever and ever if both husband and wife obey Heavenly Father’s commandments and keep their own covenants. Youth can also be sealed to their parents forever if they too obey. Temple work helps seal families together forever.
