“IF IT IS TO BE, IT IS UP TO ME” NIGHT:  Have one or two speakers who have been through the temple come. Choose those who can express that before they went to the temple, their desire to go to the temple was foremost in their mind. Have them tell how their path had distractions and how they were led in different directions, but that through consistent right choices, they were able to go to the temple. These are tender experiences and could be faith promoting. Obtain the bishop’s approval and be prayerful. Re-emphasize to the young women the things to do to prepare to enter the temple (ideas from the lesson).

TEMPLE-STEPS SITUATION SKITS:         1. On a large piece of cardboard, paint a temple  and tape paper footprints on the floor leading to the temple.

2. Ask two or more young women (with their scriptures and a pencil in hand) to write on a footprint the word that represents a step they can take that will lead them to the temple.

3. Ask them to create and role-play a situation that represents the word written on the footprint. They could role-play opposites where one or more young women act out choices that take them off the path. Then the other young women can role-play choices that keep them on the path. Example: Write “Faith” on the footstep.  Role-play someone who does not read the scriptures, who watches television instead.  Role-play a young woman who reads the scriptures (see 2 Nephi 31:10).
