I Can Pray with My Family
Nursery Lesson 12 – I Can Pray with My Family in the Behold Your Little One’s manual.
OBJECTIVE: Tell children that family prayer helps us stay close to each other and to Heavenly Father. The Savior said that if we pray with our families in His name, our family will be blessed (3 Nephi 18:21). Praying together invites the Holy Ghost to guide us, and we can grow closer to Heavenly Father as we pray and receive guidance and protection.
CRAFT ACTIVITY – Family Prayer Fan
1. Print or copy the activity fan. As children fold the fan, talk about folding our arms when we pray and listening to the words that are said to Heavenly Father. Punch a hole at the bottom of the fan and tie yarn or ribbon through and tie.
2. Have children say, “I love to pray with my family” as shown on the fan. Then remind them to have family prayer each day, using the fan to remind them.
3. Have children name the blessings they have and the blessings they pray for in family prayer.
THOUGHT TREAT: Fantastic cookie. Shape cookie dough in a fan shape and cut lines in cookie and bake. Colorful option: Mix food coloring with 1 teaspoon of canned milk, using red, yellow, and blue, and paint lines in the cookie.

After her husband died, she told her Israelite mother-in-law, “Your people will be my people, and your God my God.” – Ruth 1:16
