POSTER ACTIVITY – Animals All Over the World! Poster
1. Print or copy the activity poster to color.

2. Talk about the poster, saying, “Animals all over the world!” Help children answer the questions:
—“If you had a giraffe for a pet, where would he sleep?”
—“If you could move like a monkey, what would you like to climb?”

HOVER OVER or ZOOM IN (to view)

—“If you could see like an owl at night, would you be afraid of the dark?”
• Help children make animal sounds of animals on the handout (e.g., monkey) (see “Thought Treat” below), meow, moo, woof, caw, who-who, quack. Say what each animal does to help us.
3. Talk about the Home Activity: “Look at a book of animals with me and help me discover how many different animals were created for our wondrous world!”

THOUGHT TREAT: Monkey food. Give each child a banana and have him or her peel it like monkeys do (as shown in the handout above). Before taking each bite, children can make monkey sounds, “Oo-oo-ee-ee-aa-aa.” After they eat the banana, have children scratch under their arms like a monkey and pretend to jump from tree limb to limb.
