CRAFT ACTIVITY – Good Food Makes Me Strong – Feeding Daniel Good Food
1. Print or copy the activity. Cut a slit in Daniel’s mouth to insert food. Glue Daniel poster to separate piece of paper, gluing sides and bottom only and leaving room for food to drop into the pocket. To retrieve food, simply separate top and reach in.
2. As children learn of the story of Daniel, who ate good food for a healthy body, they can put good food into Daniel’s mouth. Food items shown are nuts, corn, water, bread, rice, and wheat cakes. See story on page 49 in the Primary manual as you tell of Daniel, who ate the food Heavenly Father wanted him to eat. (See also Daniel 1.)
THOUGHT TREAT: Healthy foods. Share a variety of tempting good-for-you foods (e.g., apples, celery with peanut butter, cheese sticks, dried fruit, pretzels, or bananas).
SINGING for Sunbeam Lesson 16 – I Have a Body: Sing “Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes,” “Hinges,” and “Once There Was a Snowman” (or “Once I was a Baby”) (Children’s Songbook, 275, 277, 249).
