CHILDREN’S LESSON ACTIVITY. FISHES & WISHES (little lessons on obedience). Help children want to obey Heavenly Father and Jesus and honor their parents. FISH: Fold your arms. Say, “I love my Heavenly Father.” Walk quietly around the room. Smile at the other children. Pick up a toy and put it away. Help the class sing “I Am a Child of God.” Say, “Jesus loves the little children.”

Little LESSON LIFESAVER Activity
I Can Be Obedient
(Fishes and Wishes to Obey)


OBJECTIVE:
Strengthen each child’s desire to obey Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and to obey his or her parents.

CRAFT ACTIVITY – Obedient – Fishes & Wishes to Obey
1. Print or copy activity. Make the fishing pole by tying and taping a string to the end of a wooden craft stick. Attach a paperclip at the other end of the string.

 

Fishing activity on choices

NOTE: If coloring images, don’t color over fish words, just the edge of fish or color with pastel markers.
2. Go fish*, with one or two sets of fish, helping children fish to find fun ways to obey. Talk about actions as they throw a string (with a paperclip attached) over a chair to find a fish. Tell children that Heavenly Father wants us to obey. Let’s get some fishes to find out the wishes.

*To Fish. Hook a paperclip to the end of the fishing pole. The child can cast his/her pole over a chair. Place fish on the paperclip to pull back. Read and do the action with the children.

THOUGHT TREAT:  Fish crackers or gummy fish. SING WITH CHILDREN.
