ACTIVITY DAYS PLANNER
Stranger Danger (learn how to be safe from strangers). Obtain a set of Stranger Danger cards, cut the out, and play the game as follows:
1. To learn about STRANGER DANGER, sit in a circle on the floor. Place the 32 large word/clues (e.g., “out” “away” “pick”) face-up, and the Stranger Danger cards in a pile in the center.
2. Take turns choosing a Stranger Danger card and reading it aloud. Search for the missing word/clue on the floor to fill in the blank. If player cannot find the answer or missing word, choose a safety buddy to help them. Read the question and answer aloud to review.
Review Game: Divide into two teams, splitting cards equally between the teams. Teams take turns reading and completing cards aloud, without the words/clues. Teams should read the question on the card together, trying as a team to complete it by filling in the blanks. The team that completes the most cards wins.
THOUGHT TREAT: (Danger Clue Cupcakes). Bake 9 or more cupcakes. Write out 10 words/wordstrips that read: (1) BE (2) AWARE (3) IT’S (4) BETTER (5) TO (6) BE (7) SAFE (8) THAN (9) SORRY. Wrap each wordstrip in aluminum foil and place it in cupcake before baking, or insert a knife and place in after baking. Frost and serve. If there are more than 9 girls, don’t include a clue, or write “SORRY NO CLUE” on the extra wordstrips. All the cupcakes must be eaten to find the message “Be aware. It’s better to be safe than sorry.”
