Faithful Footsteps goal flip-chart 


OBJECTIVE:
To help youth understand that the gospel of Jesus Christ is eternal and is based on truths that will help us gain exaltation. See LESSON IDEAS* below.

Faithful Footsteps Flip Chart - follow Jesus

ACTIVITY: 
Help youth follow in the footsteps of Jesus as they endure to the end.

. Have them write things they can do on each chart to keep that commandment. Remind them that each step brings them closer to eternal life, life with Heavenly Father and Jesus. Read and explain: 2 Nephi 31:20. “Press forward,” means to walk in the steps of Jesus, to do as He would do. As we “press forward,” enduring to the end, we shall have the greatest of all gifts—eternal life (to live with Heavenly Father and Jesus).

TO MAKE: Print and cut out the Faithful Footsteps goal flip-chart for each youth. Glue cards together placing the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth chart behind the first so that footsteps show below each chart (with Faithful Footstep Flip Chart at the top).

SCRIPTURE CARDS: Help children Search and Ponder this scripture card by filling in the blanks. PRINT this 5 x 7 scripture card from the pdf included with the above activity. You can punch the two holes on the left and tie a ribbon to attach cards or use two metal rings to connect cards.

IDEAS FOR (the above activity): 
Luke 18:18-28 tells the story of the rich man who asked how he could receive eternal life.

Read the story and help the youth to understand what Jesus told the man. Explain how we must be willing to leave everything behind as we follow the Savior.

DISCUSSION & Flip-Chart Activity:

Ask youth, “What do you think it means to ‘endure to the end?'” 

John 15:10-11 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love… that your joy might be full.”

Flip the flip-chart each day and write something you can do on each page to GROW as you follow the example of Jesus.

* Rewards (for following in the footsteps of Jesus):

#1 Pray to Heavenly Father:
This helps build faith and trust in God and comforts in times of distress and need.
Matthew 7:7 “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.”
#2 Serve / Pay Tithing:
Helps us live a commandment that will bring us temporal and spiritual blessings.
Malachi 3:10
The Promise: “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse… and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.”
#3 Attend Church:
Helps us learn to serve and renew our promises to Jesus to live like Him.
Matthew 18:20
Jesus Christ promised, “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
#4 Read Scriptures:
By learning about Jesus and His gospel we can learn ways to be happy.
Matthew 22:29
“Jesus … said …, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.

“… the holy scriptures … make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus … for correction, for instruction in righteousness.
#5 Choose the Right:
Obeying God brings lasting joy (rather than the misery that follows sin).
Psalm 84:11 declares, “For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.”
