THOUGHT TREAT: Priesthood Peanut Butter Cookies. Purchase peanut butter-filled cookies or spread peanut butter between two graham crackers. Tell children that the priesthood is one half of the cookie and our faith is the other half. Priesthood blessings cannot come to us if we don’t have faith. The peanut butter in the cookie reminds us to stick to beliefs. As we live the commandments each day, our faith increases, and we stay worthy to receive priesthood blessings.
TESTIMONY: You may want to testify to the children that the priesthood of God is the greatest power on earth and that it can bless their lives in many ways. You may want to share an experience when the priesthood has blessed your life. Encourage the boys in your class to prepare to receive the Aaronic Priesthood.
. . . Review the enrichment activity 1, for which the above activity illustrates.
SCRIPTURE CHALLENGE CARD: Help children Search and Ponder this scripture card by filling in the blanks. PRINT this 5 x 7 scripture card from the pdf included with the above activity. You can punch the two holes on the left and tie a ribbon to attach cards or use two metal rings to connect cards.
Doctrine and Covenants 121:36
“That the rights of the priesthood are inseparably connected with the powers of heaven.”
Doctrine and Covenants 127:8-9
“For I am about to restore many things to the earth, pertaining to the priesthood, saith the Lord of Hosts . . . . let all the records be had in order, that they may be put in the archives of my holy temple, to be held in remembrance from generation to generation, saith the Lord of Hosts.”
