LESSON ACTIVITY. MORONI’S MESSAGE: The Gospel Is Restored – Angel Moroni’s Match Game. Children can learn how the full gospel of Jesus Christ was restored again to the earth after Jesus and His apostles died. The Angel Moroni brought them to Joseph Smith, written on gold plates. They were to be translated into The Book of Mormon. This is where we can read about these gospel treasures that were restored.

Moroni’s Message: The fulness of the gospel is restored! Angel Moroni’s Match Game

OBJECTIVE: To help youth understand the importance of Moroni’s message that the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ was to be restored.

ACTIVITY: Angel Moroni’s Match Game

This game reminds youth of the basic elements of the gospel that were restored to Joseph Smith by the Angel Moroni (shown on the cards). MATCH CARDS: Faith in Jesus Christ, Repentance, Baptism by Immersion, Gift of the Holy Ghost, Book of Mormon, Living Prophets, Priesthood Authority, Continuous Revelation, Temple Ordinances

TO PLAY: 
1. Mix up cards and lay them facedown on the floor or table.
2. Divide children into two teams and have teams take turns turning over two cards to make a match.
3. Then read the match, telling what principle of the gospel was restored.
4. The team with the most matches wins.

TO MAKE Print or copy and color the two sets of cards and label on cardstock for each youth.

THOUGHT TREAT: Gospel Granola. Give each youth a granola bar and say, “Just as granola is made up of different ingredients like oats, sugar, nuts, and raisins that make it great, so is the gospel of Jesus Christ made up of several basic elements or ingredients to make it full and complete (elements found on the match cards).

TESTIMONY: Express your gratitude for the message that Moroni gave to Joseph Smith and to us. Testify that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God and that the Book of Mormon is true. Encourage the children to learn more about the gospel by reading from the Book of Mormon each day.
