_____ I practiced integrity by living the law of the fast on a fast Sunday: ___________________.

“To discipline ourselves through fasting brings us in tune with God, and fast day provides an occasion to set aside the temporal so that we might enjoy the higher qualities of the spiritual. As we fast on that day we learn and better understand the needs of those who are less fortunate.” – President Howard W. Hunter, Apostle & (later) Prophet | Fast Day (HERE)

_____ I abstained from and drank for two consecutive meals (breakfast, lunch, or dinner).

“If we want our fasting to be more than just going without eating, we must lift our hearts, our minds, and our voices in communion with our Heavenly Father. Fasting, coupled with mighty prayer, is powerful. It can fill our minds with the revelations of the Spirit. Fasting in the proper spirit and in the Lord’s way will energize us spiritually, strengthen our self-discipline, fill our homes with peace, lighten our hearts with joy, fortify us against temptation, prepare us for times of adversity, and open the windows of heaven.” – Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin, Apostle The Law of the Fast (HERE)

“The law of the fast has three great purposes. First, it provides assistance to the needy through the contribution of fast offerings, consisting of the value of meals from which we abstain. Second, a fast is beneficial to us physically. Third, it is to increase humility and spirituality on the part of each individual.” – Elder L. Tom Perry | The Law of the Fast (HERE)

____ I Opened and Closed My Fast with Prayer. Things I Prayed About: _______________

“We should all give some attention to fasting. We haven’t really called on the Lord so that we can reach him intimately if we don’t fast occasionally, and pray often. Many of our personal problems can be solved by so doing. – President Marion G. Romney | The Blessing of the Fast (HERE)

Why do we fast?

Fasting and Fast Offerings

Along with the paying of tithing, we fast (one Sunday a month) and give fast offerings to care for the poor and needy. We decide what we donate as fast offerings and we are blessed spiritually and temporally for giving.
