CHILDREN’S LESSON ACTIVITY. JONAH AND THE WHALE slideshow. Children can not only feel gratitude for fish and water animals with this activity, but they can also learn of Jonah who ran and hid when God asked him to be a prophet. Jonah and the Whale slideshow

OBJECTIVE: Help each child feel gratitude toward Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ for fish and water animals.

CRAFT ACTIVITY – Jonah and the Whale – Slideshow
1. Print or copy the activity scene. Cut along dashed lines in whale’s mouth and water, inserting the pull-through picture strip into slits on the side and in the whale’s mouth. Fold back edges of picture strip to prevent pulling all the way out.

2. Tell the story of Jonah and the BIG whale-size fish that swallowed Jonah (Jonah 1–3). Talk about why we are thankful for fish and how Jonah was saved from drowning when the fish swallowed him. God wanted Jonah to be safe, so He allowed the fish to swallow Jonah until he repented and said he would be a prophet to tell the people to repent.

THOUGHT TREAT: Fishy snacks. Candy gummy fish or fish-shaped crackers in a fish bowl or bag.
