I Love My Whole Family – family ties necklace, belt or kite
OBJECTIVE: Tell children that Heavenly Father planned for us to have families to love and care for us. In a family, we learn to choose the right. We need to love and care for our families.
CRAFT ACTIVITY – I Love My Whole Family – Family Ties necklace or belt
1. Print or copy the activity on cardstock paper. Punch holes in blocks and string yarn together, tying knots after each block. Children can wear this as a necklace or belt.
2. Tell children that it is important to love their whole family, pray for them, spend time with them, and tell them they love them. Have them tell you about each family member on blocks.
THOUGHT TREAT: Rope Licorice tied in knots. Knot two pieces of licorice together. Tell children that this knot in the licorice helps keep the pieces together. Telling your family that you love them is one way to strengthen family ties and “tie” families more securely together.
SINGING for I Love My Family (Nursery Lesson 11) and I Love My Whole Family (Sunbeam Lesson 25) Sing “A Happy Family” and “Quickly I’ll Obey” (Children’s Songbook, 198, 197).
