I Can Be an Example poster or coloring page
Lesson 19 – “I Can Be Happy“ in the “Behold Your Little Ones” manual.
OBJECTIVE: Tell children that Heavenly Father wants us to be happy, so He wants us to follow His son Jesus and be like Him. His plan of salvation is often called the “great plan of happiness” (Alma 42:8). We will have trials in life, but we must face them cheerfully and help others be happy like Jesus did.
POSTER ACTIVITY – Jesus’s Example Poster
1. Print or copy the activity poster to color.
2. Talk about the poster, saying, “I can be an example.
I want to be like Jesus. I will follow Him.” Jesus showed us how to love and be kind to everyone. Talk about Jesus serving others, about Jesus washing His Apostles’ feet (JST John 13:8, 10). Show gospel art picture from ward library (GAK 226).
3. Talk about the Home Activity: “Help me to know when I am being a good example. I am happy when I am kind, loving, and choosing the right. Help me be more like Jesus.”
THOUGHT TREAT: Footstep fudge. Make fudge by microwaving one-half can of sweetened condensed milk and one bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips for 2–4 minutes. Stir fudge and form into feet shapes. Press tiny candies into fudge for toenails. Tell children that if we follow Jesus, walking in His footsteps, we can show love and be a good example.
