2. Visual will help children sniff and taste. To create Sniff and Taste test, have children wet a sponge with water and dampen toast part of image. From a shaker bottle they can sprinkle the wet area of the toast image with cinnamon and sugar (3/4 cup sugar and 1/4 cup cinnamon). Children can smell and taste the cinnamon and sugar. The sugar doesn’t come off and it’s a great way to show and tell.

THOUGHT TREAT: Cinnamon and sugar toast. Prepare this ahead. Spread butter on bread and sprinkle the cinnamon and sugar mixture (3/4 sugar and 1/4 cinnamon) on top. Toast on broil 2–3 minutes in the oven (not the microwave). Serve bread cold.  Encourage children to sniff and taste.
