DANCING LEAVES fan blowing leaves, pick-a-song

DESCRIPTION: Mount leaves on a fan so children can see them blowing as they grab a leaf to pick-a-song. Includes fun singing award!
To Make:
1. Print, color, and cut out the leaves making as many as you need for the songs you are practicing. Write on the back of each leaf the song and page number.
2. Attach 6-8 inches of curling ribbon on each leaf and tie each to front of a large fan; placing them apart so they don’t tangle easily. By using curling ribbon to attach the leaves to the fan, you can curl the end of the ribbon making it easy to thread through the fan-screen bars when tying to the fan.
To Use:
1. Tell children they can pick-a-song by choosing a dancing leaf.
2. Turn on the fan and have children grab a dancing leaf. Hold onto the fan so children don’t pull it over (reminding them not to put fingers into the moving fan).
3. After leaf is chosen, turn off the fan and cut the ribbon close to the leaf to release the leaf. Some leaves may tangle, but they can still dance.
4. Practice the song.
