Priesthood Power Blessings Journal
DESCRIPTION: Have youth record/write their feelings about how the priesthood has or will bless their lives on these two inspirational journal pages. • Baby blessing
• Membership in the Lord’s Church

THOUGHT TREAT: Priesthood Blessing Lifesavers. Give youth 14 Lifesaver candies and ask them each to tell you one of the fourteen blessings from the priesthood (found on the Blessings Journal (above). Tell them that these bless our lives so they are eternal lifesavers. We can take these blessings with us after this life on earth if we continue to live God’s commandments.
MUTUAL NIGHT OR FAMILY NIGHT ACTIVITIES
PRIESTHOOD LEADERS CHALKBOARD DISCUSSION:
Have a priesthood holder (approved by the bishop) come and give a chalkboard discussion about the priesthood—what it is, what it does, etc.—and tell how young women can assist and support priesthood holders. Talk about respectful ways to act towards the priesthood and priesthood ordinances.
Then have young women select a priesthood holder they respect and admire and write them a note of appreciation, telling them what they have observed.
PRIESTHOOD PANEL DISCUSSION:
Gather a select group of Melchizedek and Aaronic priesthood holders to answer questions about the priesthood. Have bishop select panel and prepare participants. Give the bishop a list of questions and have him approve the list and add his ideas. Ask the bishop or his counselor to conduct.
HONORING THE PRIESTHOOD HOUR:
Have young women prepare an hour-long program to honor the priesthood holders in your ward. Invite all the young men. Have a woman (the bishop’s or counselor’s wife) give a tribute to the priesthood holders in the ward. Spotlight several young men and other Melchizedek Priesthood holders, telling why they are admired. Information can be obtained from leaders, bishop, and family members. Have the bishop choose the priesthood holders to spotlight. Serve punch and star-shaped cookies with a note: Priesthood Holders: You are the stars ✯ ✯ that bring light to our ward!
