Objective: Help children/youth memorize Doctrine and Covenants 43:34: “Hearken ye to these words. Behold, I am Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world.”
REMAINING PART OF SCRIPTURE (not on the card): “Treasure these things up in your hearts, and let the solemnities of eternity rest upon your minds.”
To Make: Print, color, and cut out poster of your choice. If printing the larger size poster, mount the two parts on poster paper. The smaller cards are for children to take home.
Ways to Motivate Children/Youth to Memorize Scripture:
• Give out small black and white scripture cards to memorize.
• Once they are passed off give out the colored version of scripture cards.
MUTUAL NIGHT ACTIVITIES:
COME UNTO ME – WISHING TREE:
Have youth pin on a tree homemade notes or cards to decorate a Wishing Tree. Write on the notes things you would say if Jesus Christ were in the room. Write what you want to do to come unto Jesus. Ideas: “Jesus: I want to be with Thee someday. Hope I can stay close to Thee by reading the scriptures daily.” These could be read aloud or viewed in the upcoming weeks.
