LESSON LIFESAVER Activity
Bishop Bingo
OBJECTIVE: To help the children understand the duties of a bishop and have the desire to support their bishop and other Church leaders.
ACTIVITY: Bishop Bingo
Play Bishop Bingo to help children learn the various things a bishop or his counselors might do to guide us.
TO PLAY:
1. Give each player a different card if playing with eight players. If more than eight play, let them know that another player may have a card that matches the one they have.
2. Give each player 10 or more markers (candy, beans, etc.).
3. Players can take turns drawing clues from a hat or box and calling the bingo square.
4. When a player’s bingo card picture matches the clue, the player can cover the square with a marker.5. Play until a winner has a row of five marked squares (left, right, or diagonal) and announces “Bishop Bingo!”
TO MAKE Print or copy and color and cut out the cards and clues. Have one card per player. Place clues in a hat or box to draw from. Example: “Wants you to choose the right.” “Receives revelation.” “Conducts the interview for baptism.”
THOUGHT TREAT: Sweet Blessings Cookie. Give youth a sugar cookie and talk about the sweet blessings that the bishop brings to your ward or branch family. Also say, “The sweet taste of this cookie makes us feel happy. The sweet testimony that the bishop and his counselors share gives us a happy, peaceful feeling.
SCRIPTURE CARDS: Help children Search and Ponder this scripture card by filling in the blanks. PRINT this 5 x 7 scripture card from the pdf included with the above activity. You can punch the two holes on the left and tie a ribbon to attach cards or use two metal rings to connect cards.
