YOUTH GOALS &
LESSON LIFESAVER ACTIVITY
SPIRITUAL
Youth GOAL
“I STAND ALL AMAZED”
Ponder the sacrament and feelings about my Savior.
Goal Ideas
Youth can use this “I stand all amazed at the love Jesus offers me” sacrament thought card activity to learn the actions that help them grow closer to the Savior. They can memorize 3 Nephi 11:14 scripture on the front of the card and write their feelings and thoughts about Jesus Christ, their Savior on the back. Ask them to prepare to take the sacrament by keeping God’s commandments and record their feelings in a journal.
Inspiration
President Boyd K. Packer has testified, “That is the promise of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the Atonement: … that at the end of [our lives, we] can go through the veil having repented of [our] sins and having been washed clean through the blood of Christ.” – “The Atonement,” Ensign or Liahona, Nov. 2012, 77.
“How can we have the Spirit of the Lord to guide our choices so that we will remain “unspotted from the world” (D&C 59:9) and on the safe path through mortality? We need to qualify for the cleansing power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. We do this by keeping His commandment to come to Him with a broken heart and a contrite spirit and in that wonderful weekly meeting partake of the emblems of the sacrament and make the covenants that qualify us for the precious promise that we will always have His Spirit to be with us (see D&C 20:77).” – Sacrament Meeting and the Sacrament, Elder Dallin H. Oaks, Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles

GROUP ACTIVITIES
For Church or Family
REMEMBER ME – LAST SUPPER:
1. Create a setting like the Last Supper. Have eleven youth sit around a large table representing the apostles and one representing Jesus.
2. Ask them to role-play what went on at the Last Supper before Jesus was crucified.
3. Explain that Jesus wanted His disciples and us to always remember Him and to keep His commandments.
4. Review the sacrament prayers found in the Book of Mormon (3 Nephi 18:7, 11).
5. Have someone who is particularly appreciative of the sacrament express his or her feelings about this sacred ordinance.
6. Select a conference talk on the sacrament and use unleavened bread (or pita bread) to show what bread was like in the Savior’s day.
7. Have everyone bring their scriptures to have a Sacrament Scripture Chase. Divide into two teams and race to find scriptures on the following. Announce subject matter first, then the scripture.
