Side 1: Ways I Will Follow My Savior
Side 2: D&C 29:1-2
OBJECTIVE: Help youth realize they can listen to the voice of their Savior to help them grow and become self-reliant, to follow Him.
TO MAKE Print and color (or have youth color), cut out, and fold tent card to stand up.
ACTIVITY: TENT-CARD:
SIDE 1 Talk about the maturity that comes from listening and following the Savior. Read D&C 29:1-12 found on the tent-card: “Listen to the voice of Jesus Christ, your Redeemer, the Great I Am, whose arm of mercy hath atoned for your sins; Who will gather his people even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, even as many as will hearken to my voice and humble themselves before me, and call upon me in mighty prayer.”
Also, see 3 Nephi 10:6 “O ye house of Israel whom I have spared, how oft will I gather you as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, if ye will repent and return unto me with full purpose of heart.”
Point out that by being close to our Father in Heaven and the Savior, we can grow in strength.
SIDE 2 Write ways they will follow the Savior Jesus Christ.
IDEAS: Be humble, pray and listen to the Lord, obey the commandments, study the scriptures, attend Church, learn and apply correct principles, love and serve others

“I THINK I CAN” CLASSES:
Set up several classes for youth on ways they can be self-reliant. Ideas:
• Class on Money Management and Creating a Budget by a CPA;
• Class on Creating a Resume and Job Interviews by a human resource representative;
• Class on Grooming by a beautician or barber;
• Class on Organizing Time by an organized individual, etc.
The classes can be 15 minutes (just to cover the basics). If there is a large group, you could break off into workshops and have the individuals teach four times. If instructors are willing to give their name and phone number, write them on a special card to give to youth in case they need to call them for advice.
