(1) POST-AND-PRESENT ACTIVITY. SMOOTH SAILING FAMILY Lovey’s Landing SOS Game. As youth choose boats with family problems, they can drive them to the right Save Our Ship Dock: Faith, Prayer, Repentance, or Forgiveness. For example. Linda Lovey worried about her brother who was very sick. What should she do? Park the boat at the PRAYER dock and invite discussion.
(2) YOUTH GOAL ACTIVITY. SOAR HIGH! Communication Balloon Bouquet. Youth can learn these eight ways to communicate with family and friends by discussing and roleplaying each. Watch as the relationships improve with each balloon strategy, e.g., “Be a good listener” can open the door to communication. Perhaps each youth could take one and present it to the group.
(3) YOUTH LESSON ACTIVITY. RIGHTEOUS TRADITIONS Time Capsule. Youth can create this message to read in the future when they are married, to be buried where they will find it and review their goals in the future. They can even open it every year to see how they are doing on their goals creating these RIGHTEOUS TRADITIONS.
(4) YOUTH LESSON ACTIVITY. CREATE FAMILY TIES! unity checklist. Youth can read Mosiah 18:8-9 then discuss the advantages of serving your family. Write on the checklist things to do to create this unity. This would help with a marriage or family life before marriage. Know from the scripture that we are “willing to bear one another’s burdens, that they may be light.” Also, Mourn, comfort, and stand as a witness of God.
