How Can I Help My Ancestors Come Closer to Jesus Christ?

This BUNDLE is to give youth leaders many activities to teach the above theme for the bi-weekly lesson.

Look for these activity handouts to help you teach lesson concepts and give them TEACHING TOOLS to plan and develop lesson objectives. These lesson-match interactive activities will add to and enhance your lessons.

LESSON-MATCH ACTIVITIES IN THIS BUNDLE INCLUDES (detailed below):

DESCRIPTIONS:

(1) POST-AND-PRESENT ACTIVITY: TURN THE HEARTS OF THE CHILDREN TO THE FATHERS concentration game. Youth can be inspired to do temple work as they match temple workers with those on the other side waiting to have their work done. For example, Emily discovered that her relatives need to be sealed to their parents. Match that HEART with Fern and Colleen, looking for Emily.

(2) YOUTH GOAL ACTIVITY. TRACING MY ANCESTORS pedigree chart. Youth ponder the importance of baptism for the dead as they trace their ancestor’s hair and facial features on the chart to identify each charted ancestor. While doing so, they can say, “I can be baptized for … my family and others.”

(3) YOUTH LESSON ACTIVITY. MEET MY ANCESTOR Spotlight – Share a Family Story journal. Youth can prepare a pedigree chart with their name and their parents and grandparents’ names. Prepare a family group record for your family. Share a family story. Discuss how performing temple work blesses families.

(4) YOUTH GOAL ACTIVITY. FAMILIES CAN BE TOGETHER FOREVER pedigree & story sketch. Youth prepare this chart to spotlight ancestors. They can also write an Appealing Family Story Sketch. Talk about searching for ancestors and searching for temple work done and how it blesses families.
