Plug into Priesthood Power Lines puzzle
OBJECTIVE: The activity teaches youth how PLUGGING INTO GOD’S PRIESTHOOD POWER LINES can bless and guide us.
ACTIVITY: Priesthood Power Lines Puzzle
Help youth plug into Priesthood Power Lines by writing initials on the plug showing the duties, e.g. PE = Priest and Elder can bless the sacrament. Read Aaronic Priesthood duties (D&C 20:46–59) and Melchizedek Priesthood duties (D&C 20:38–45; 107:11–12).
Priesthood Duties:
“Beginning in January of 2019, worthy young men will be eligible to be ordained to a priesthood office in January of the year they turn 12, 14, and 16.” (SOURCE)
A DEACON Age 12, can hold the Aaronic Priesthood, pass the sacrament, act as a messenger for priesthood leaders, collect fast offerings, and care for church buildings and grounds.
A TEACHER Age 14, can hold the Aaronic Priesthood, perform all duties of a Deacon, prepare bread and water for the sacrament, and be assigned to be a home teacher.
A PRIEST Age 16, can hold the Aaronic Priesthood, perform all duties of a Deacon and Teacher, administer and bless the sacrament, and baptize.
An ELDER, at age 18, can hold the Melchizedek Priesthood, may serve a full-time mission, watch over the Church, give the gift of the Holy Ghost, conduct meetings, bless children, administer to the sick, and bless family members and others.
TO MAKE Print and color the Priesthood Power Lines Puzzle that follows for each child.
THOUGHT TREAT Priesthood Power Cookies. Write D, T, P, and E (priesthood duties named above) on cookies with frosting. Have youth name specific priesthood duties when they eat their cookie. Example: A Deacon passes the sacrament. A Priest can bless the sacrament.
SCRIPTURE CHALLENGE CARD: Help youth Search and Ponder this scripture card by filling in the blanks. PRINT this 5 x 7 scripture card from the pdf included with the above activity. You can punch the two holes on the left and tie a ribbon to attach cards or use two metal rings to connect cards.
Helaman 10:7 “Behold, I give unto you power, that whatsoever ye shall seal on earth shall be sealed in heaven; and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven; and thus shall ye have power among this people.”
