Families Are Special!
Missing Family Puzzle
OBJECTIVE: The lesson helps children understand that Heavenly Father planned for children to grow up in families. Review the discussion (shown in the lesson below) in the manual for which the following activity illustrates.
ACTIVITY: Missing Family Puzzle
This puzzle includes each family member. Help children know that Heavenly Father planned for us to grow up in families to love and help us. Think of each family member and how SPECIAL they are. Put the puzzle together. Then, take one puzzle piece away and ask, “How would you miss this person if they were not there?” Put the puzzle piece back and have the child tell why this person is special to them. Talk about how we can help each family member feel SPECIAL.
TO MAKE Print on cardstock paper, color, and cut out the activity.
THOUGHT TREAT: Happy Family Pancake Faces. Talk about how happy we are when our family is together. Reserve some pancake batter to color some blue for eyes and pink for lips. Fry pancake on one side. After turning, add batter to create face; then turn over to fry, sealing the eyes and lips to the pancake.
