Teach them a story of how Jesus forgave His disciples when they turned the children away. Jesus told them to bring the children to Him. OBJECTIVE: The lesson helps children desire to follow the commandment to forgive others.
ACTIVITY: Four 4’s Necklace
With these four 4’s: “Forgive others and Forget, Forever, For Jesus,” children can learn that Heavenly Father wants us to forgive others for the wrong things they do to us.
TO MAKE Print or copy, color, and cut out the activity on cardstock paper. Punch a hole at the top of each number, thread ribbon through, and tie around child’s neck.
THOUGHT TREAT: 4 Treats to Remember the 4’s. Treats could be 4 graham cracker pieces from one large graham cracker or 4 pieces of candy.

NOTES FROM THE LESSON*
Explain that to be loving and forgiving, we must—
- Get rid of the feeling of anger and the desire to take revenge on the other person.
- Forget the unkindness.
- Treat the person with kindness and love.
Point out that when we really forgive others, we are willing to forget the wrong that they have done and replace our angry feelings with kind, loving feelings. Forgiving other people includes showing great love for them after forgiving them.
