Little LESSON LIFESAVER Activity
Children Around the World “Thank You” people pop-ups
OBJECTIVE: The lesson helps children help the children know that Jesus Christ loves and blesses children everywhere. The activity helps us learn to say “Thank You” in different languages.
ACTIVITY: “Thank You” People Pop-ups
Using the envelope (shown right) to place children from around the world in the pockets, do the following:

1. Help children sing, “Children All Over the World,” p. 16 in the Children’s Songbook, and talk to children about Jesus loving everyone.
2. Have children learn how children all over the world say thank you “in their own special way,” by sliding the children into the “thank you” pockets to match their country/language: German: wir danken dir, Danish: tak, Tongan: mālō, French: merci, Japanese: kansha shimashu, Spanish: gracias.
TO MAKE: Print or copy, color, and cut out the activity on cardstock paper. To create pockets, fold the world in half and glue on both sides and along both dotted lines, leaving open three areas for the child to insert people.
THOUGHT TREAT: Gingerbread Cookies (boys and girls).
SHOW CHILDREN THIS VIDEO OF Emeri from Australia CHILDREN AROUND THE WORLD – She says “Thank You” for the living Prophet President Thomas S. Monson, and his example of service.
