Learn & Living the Gospel Goal 5 (Part 1 of 2):
Give an opening and a closing prayer in family home evening or Primary.
Prayer Blossoms (Board Game)
TO MAKE:
1. Print, color, and cut out the Prayer Blossoms Board Game block, game board, and bee markers.
2. Talk about how prayer with Heavenly Father helps your relationship blossom and grow—especially when the thorns of life come. If we pray daily and get close to Heavenly Father we will learn to depend on Him to protect and help us when we are in need.
3. Follow the rules on the game board to play the Prayer Blossoms Board Game.
THOUGHT TREAT Search and Ponder Pretzels or Bread Sticks. Give each youth some straight pretzels or bread sticks, or have them bake their straight bread sticks.
Thought: As they eat, read Matthew 22:29, Alma 7:9; 37:44, 1 Nephi 8; 12:17; 15:12-25, and D&C 88:63. Tell the youth that the pretzels or bread sticks remind us of the straight and narrow path that leads us back to our Heavenly Father. We can stay on the path if we hold onto the iron rod, the word of God found in the scriptures, and through prayer. As we search, ponder, and pray about the scriptures each day, we can keep the heavenly communication lines open and be guided throughout our lives. Happiness can come each day if we strive to stay on the straight and narrow path.
