I Choose to Follow Jesus reward list
OBJECTIVE: Help children choose to serve the Lord.
ACTIVITY: Help children make a decision now to serve the Lord by placing a smile (☺) symbol next to the rewards for following Jesus. Then place a frown (☹) symbol next to the consequences for not following Jesus.
LESSON IDEAS: This activity illustrates the Old Testament Lesson 23 (below*). See enrichment activity #4.
SMILES
• The Holy Ghost stays around us.
• We can resist temptation.
• Our faith increases.
• We are blessed spiritually.
• We are happy.
FROWNS:
• We are miserable
• We lose our faith
• We lose our spiritual blessings.
• The Holy Ghost will not guide us.
• It is harder for us to resist temptation.
TO MAKE Print and cut out the I Choose to Follow Jesus reward list for each child.
THOUGHT TREAT (when appropriate): Happy Heart Cakes. Make cupcakes or muffins. With a tube of red or pink frosting, frost a heart on top with a smiling face inside the heart. Tell children that happiness is a feeling that you have in your heart that comes from serving others as Jesus did.
