My Circle of Love Spin-and-Serve game
OBJECTIVE: To strengthen each child’s desire to show love to others.
ACTIVITY: My Circle of Love Spin-and-Serve game
Create a story to share about love and service.
Create this game to learn about ways we can include others in our circle of love. Tell children how Abraham included Lot and his family in his circle of love (Genesis 13:1-18; 14:8-16; 18:16-33; 19: 1, 12-17, 24-29; and more about family: Genesis 11:27-32 and Abraham 2:1-6, 14-15).
Spin Game: Children spin the center circle, then tell how they can love and serve that person (on the wheel) to include him or her in their circle of love.
Brainstorm Game: Divide into two teams. Take 5-10 minutes to brainstorm and write down as many ways you can serve as possible, naming the types of people you will serve (some may be on the wheel). When the time is up, share your ideas. The team with the most ideas wins!
TO MAKE Print and cut out the My Circle of Love Spin-and-Serve game for each child. Attach part A to part B (larger circle) with a paper metal fastener or button brad. To make a button brad, sew two buttons together on opposite sides (threading thread through the same hole in the paper) to attach wheel parts A and B.
THOUGHT TREAT: Circle of Love Cookies. Decorate round cookies with a frosted heart. As children eat, ask them to think of someone they will include in their circle of love.
SCRIPTURE CHALLENGE CARD: Help children Search and Ponder this scripture card by filling in the blanks. PRINT this 5 x 7 scripture card from the pdf included with the above activity. You can punch the two holes on the left and tie a ribbon to attach cards or use two metal rings to connect cards.
