Prepare or Beware! MAZE

ACTIVITY: Remind children that Jesus and others need their help. Ask them, if they are ready to serve, and warn them to “Prepare or Beware! Don’t get caught going in the wrong direction! Work through the maze to learn how to prepare.
Maze shows a-maz-ing ways to prepare: Pray often, Study scriptures, Follow parent’s counsel, Trust in Jesus and Heavenly Father, Be obedient, and Sacrifice.

Review the enrichment activities 1 and 2 (see PRIMARY LESSON below*) in the manual for which the following activity illustrates.

TO MAKE Print, color, and cut out the maze for each child.

THOUGHT TREAT: Preparation Pickles. Give each child a pickle to eat and tell them, “Don’t get yourself into a pickle . . . Be prepared.” Explain that getting yourself into a pickle is getting into a bad situation that makes life difficult and hard to get out of, like forgetting to pray so you don’t get help or answers to questions. Like, not taking the advice of your parents and make poor choices. TALK ABOUT each situation on the board to know the dangers of making poor choices.

TESTIMONY: Bear testimony that the Prophet Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God. Express your gratitude that he was well prepared to translate the gold plates. Encourage the children to do something extra during the coming week to help prepare themselves to serve the Lord.
