Little LESSON LIFESAVER Activity
Jesus died for me that I might live again!
ATONEMENT PONDER WHEEL
OBJECTIVE: Deepen the youth’s love for Jesus as our Savior, pondering scriptures that describe Him.
ACTIVITY: Create a crucifixion wheel to show what Jesus said while suffering on the cross. These statements tell of the power and character of Jesus that helped Him to say and do these things.
Have the youth take turns reading and discussing the statements that Jesus made (e.g., Luke 23:34 says that Jesus was “merciful and forgiving”).
TO MAKE Print, color, and cut out the wheel parts for each child. Cut open the window with a razor blade. Attach parts with a metal-brad (as shown).
THOUGHT TREAT: Remember Jesus cookies. Roll out sugar cookie dough and cut into 4” round shapes. Then cut dividing lines in the cookie before baking (to show the six parts on the wheel above). As children eat each piece, talk about the six points on the wheel.
SCRIPTURE CARDS: Help the youth Search and Ponder this scripture card by filling in the blanks. PRINT this 5 x 7 scripture card from the pdf included with the above activity. You can punch the two holes on the left and tie a ribbon to attach cards. Or, use two metal rings to connect cards.

Tell youth that Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden partook of the forbidden fruit. Because of this transgression, they would become mortal with bodies that would someday die. As we are their posterity we are also subjected to death.
For this reason, we need the Savior, to overcome death through His Atonement (death and resurrection). He rescued us from physical death (John 3:16-17; Helaman 14:15).
