TRUST JESUS “Hen Gathereth Her Chicks”
YOUTH CAN TEACH that Jesus Christ can be TRUSTED just like the mother “hen” who “gathereth her chickens under her wings” (Matthew 23:37).
We can pray and get answers with the help of Jesus. Like a hen protecting her chicks, we can trust our Heavenly Father to help us when we are in need. We can pray to Him in the name of Jesus Christ at any time. We can trust our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus to answer our prayers in the way They think is best for us.
See, Jesus is there for you! just like the mother hen gathering and protecting her little ones.
TO MAKE print and cut out the hen and chicks. Color (if needed) then laminate. Place the hen on the poster as shown and the word strips on the back of the chicks. Then post them around the room.
ACTIVITY:
Jesus told the people in Jerusalem that He would gather together children even as a “hen gathereth her chickens under her wings” (Matthew 23:37; Luke 13:34). When Jesus came, parents brought their children for Jesus to bless them. He asked His disciples to bring them to Him. Yes! we can TRUST JESUS; He does love us and wants us to come to Him.
What do you want to ask JESUS and the Father for when you pray? IN THIS ACTIVITY Trust Jesus “Hen Gathereth Her Chicks” you can take turns choosing a chick and turning it over to read a situation. Then you can HUMBLY say how you might ask in your prayer. Then place the chick just under the mother hen’s wing.
Then think about this when you get home how you might do the same when you want to ASK JESUS.
SUMMARY. TRUST JESUS and go to Him. “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. “In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths” (Proverbs 3:5–6).
