HOW DO I WORSHIP DURING THE SACRAMENT?

YOUTH CAN TEACH children with this simple match game, telling them what to think about and what to do before and during the sacrament.
• Talk about Jesus giving the first sacrament to His disciples/apostles.
• Talk about the manners to have to be reverent during the sacrament and what to think about.
• Play this SACRAMENT MATCH GAME to review.

Remember Jesus – Sacrament Manners match game

OBJECTIVE: With this Match Game, children can learn what to think and do as they partake of the sacrament. Children can say these words aloud to memorize, saying, “I WILL”:
Sing the words or hum the sacrament song
Bow my head when the sacrament prayers are said
Listen to the sacrament prayer
Think about Jesus
Partake of the bread and water reverently
Whisper if they need to talk

CRAFT ACTIVITY – Remembering Jesus Sacrament Manners Match Game
1. Print or copy two sets of the match game cards (on cardstock paper) for each child.
2. Help children talk about the sacrament and ways to show good manners when we take the sacrament and remember Jesus. Show a picture of Jesus when you do this (see the Jesus Loves Me mini-portrait to download below).
3. To Play: Turn cards face down. Take turns turning two cards over to try to make a match. If cards match, keep matching cards. If cards don’t match, turn the cards back over so the next player can try to make a match.

Jesus gives us the sacrament ordinances with the bread and water to remember Him. Jesus also gave the bread and water to His Apostles and the Nephites (to remember Him).
