OBJECTIVE: Lesson helps children learn more about the gifts of the Spirit, which come through the Holy Ghost. Review the enrichment activity 2 (p. 160) in the manual for which the following activity illustrates.
ACTIVITY: Gifts of the Spirit Crossword Puzzle
This crossword puzzle will help children learn more about the gifts of the Spirit that they can receive from the Holy Ghost. Remind them that as they are righteous they can receive these gifts. If they are unrighteous, these gifts will be taken away. Imagine what it would be like without these gifts once you have enjoyed them.
To Do Puzzle: Find the different gifts of the Spirit that are written across and down. Look up the scriptures to find the missing words. After puzzle is complete, check your answers: ✔Across: 3–revelation, 4–healed, 6–Holy Ghost, 7–healing, 8–tongues ✔ Down: 1–prophecy, 2–visions, 5–conversion
TO MAKE: Copy and cut out. Color.
THOUGHT TREAT (when appropriate): Granola bar gift. Wrap a granola bar in gift wrap and tie with a ribbon. Tell children to open the gift bar and chew. As you chew, think of “chew”sing the right to be worthy to receive these sweet spiritual gifts from the Holy Ghost (review the completed puzzle).
