Little LESSON LIFESAVER Activity
I will use the names of Heavenly Father and Jesus reverently (reverent mouth picture)
OBJECTIVE: The lesson helps children honor and respect the names of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. The activity also helps them not to swear or use crude words.
ACTIVITY: Reverent Mouth Picture
Create an “I will speak . . .” face with a pop-up mouth that flaps over the words “. . . the names of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ reverently.”
Have children draw their own hair to personalize pictures. Show children how to flap mouths up and down and memorize the verse. Tell children that this activity relates to one of the standards in My Gospel Standards: “I will use the names of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ reverently. I will not swear or use crude words.”
TO MAKE Print, color, and cut out the activity on cardstock paper. Cut a slit in the mouth where indicated for each child. Stick the mouthpiece through the slit. Fold and glue down the mouthpiece tab on the backside of the face.
SCRIPTURE READING: Cut out and glue the scriptures and fill in the blank as follows and glue this activity on the back of the picture.
