MELODY’S FAMILY TREE pick-a-song

DESCRIPTION: Help children learn the importance of forever families with this family Tree pick-a-song activity. Place family oriented songs on the back of each family tree member and sing as you build a the family tree.

TO MAKE:

  1. Cut out the tree. Mount the tree on a poster and laminate the entire poster.
  2. Mount the family member figures on cardstock paper, laminate and cut out.

TO USE:

  1. Have children draw Melody’s family member figures from a container.
  2. As children choose and place images where they belong on the family tree, have children choose a song to sing. Or tape selected songs and page numbers on the back of each piece.

Option: Have ways to sing songs on the back of family member figures. Examples: a cappella (without music), girls only, boys only, standing up, sitting down, with chin up, with arms folded, standing facing backwards.
