I Am Thankful for Home (charm bracelet or necklace)
Nursery Lesson 15: I Will Be Thankful
Find Lesson 15 – I Will Be Thankful in the Behold Your Little Ones manual.
OBJECTIVE: Tell children that we are commanded to give thanks to God for our many blessings that He gives us. We should also thank our parents, teachers, friends, and others who help us.
CRAFT ACTIVITY – I Am Thankful for Home – Charms
1. Print or copy activity.
2. Cut out charm images, punch, and insert string to tie around wrist or neck (low enough for them to look at while wearing). Tie a knot at the ends to separate for a bracelet or necklace.
3. Play a match game with two sets of charms. Lay images face down on the table so children can take turns turning homes over (two at a time) to make a match.
4. Teach with visuals the various places that birds, fish, land animals, and insects live. Show the tent as you talk about Lehi and his people living in the desert (and possibly a toy boat to show how they sailed to the Promised Land). Draw a covered wagon as you talk about the pioneers.
THOUGHT TREAT: Home-sweet-home cookies. Cut out sugar cookie dough into a house shape.
SINGING for I Will Be Thankful Nursery Lesson 15 Sing “Popcorn Popping” (Children’s Songbook, 242) and “Old McDonald.”
