Little LESSON LIFESAVER Activity
Serving Animals
(cat and dog spoons)
OBJECTIVE: Help children understand the importance of being kind to animals and how to care for dogs and cats.
CRAFT ACTIVITY – Serving Animals – Cat and Dog Spoon
1. Print or copy the activity. Glue spoons back to back.
2. The spoon has a cute description of a cat and dog and shows ways children can take care of their pets.
Fun Option: Tie a regular dog bone biscuit around the middle of the spoon and tell the child to take it home to feed their dog or ask a friend’s parents if you can give it to their dog.
THOUGHT TREAT: Dog bone cookie. Roll and cut out sugar cookie or gingerbread dough into dog bone shapes. Bake at 350° for 8–10 minutes. Note: Tell children not to feed dog bone cookies to their dogs because pets should not eat sweets.
SING “Jesus Said Love Everyone” (Children’s Songbook, 61).
