Sunbeam Lesson 15:
The Sabbath Is a Day of Worship

OBJECTIVE: Help children realize that the Sabbath day is a day of worship and rest, where we remember Heavenly Father and Jesus. It is a commandment from Heavenly Father to keep Sunday—the Sabbath day—holy.
CRAFT ACTIVITY – Sunday Is a Day of Rest – Creation Collar
1. Print or copy activity. Mount parts A and B together and place around child’s neck.
2. Talk to children about the days of creation on the collar telling them of the seventh day, a day of rest.

THOUGHT TREAT: Day 7 cookie (cut out sugar cookies in the shape of a 7 for the seventh day of creation or an S for Sabbath or Sunday, and bake). Children may have fun frosting the cookie and decorating them with colored candies. QUICK-TO-MAKE OPTION: Make pancakes in days 1–7 shapes. Top with honey butter (mix 1/4 part honey with 3/4 part butter or peanut butter).
