Animal and Insect – Do as I’m Doing

DESCRIPTION: Get the wiggles out with this fun version of Do As I’m Doing. Using the actions of insects and animals children can have a fun moment of movement and music!
Children copy the motions of animals or insects as they sing, e.g., waving their arms like the butterfly flapping its wings.
TO MAKE:
- Mount visuals on cardstock paper, laminate and cut out.
- Place them in a container to draw from.
TO USE:
- Sing the song Do As I m Doing, page 276 in Children’s Songbook using motions found on the animal and insect circles.
- To determine motion, have children draw a circle from a container, show the card and tell the others the motion.
- Do the motion, e.g., peck like a woodpecker, as you sing the song.
