POSTER ACTIVITY. BE READY TO MEET JESUS: Second Coming Suitcase preparedness packing. Youth can teach this to children and prepare together to meet Jesus when He comes again. They can pack in their spiritual-suitcase items (that tell preparedness actions), e.g., the Toothpaste action is “Keep Your Speach Clean.”

I Will Be Ready to Meet Jesus When He Comes Again
(Second Coming Suitcase -Preparedness Packing)
OBJECTIVE: Show children how they can prepare to meet Jesus when He comes by packing their personal suitcase with things that will help them be the type of person Jesus would want to meet. Example: Keep Your Speech Clean (toothpaste), Walk-in Jesus’ Steps (shoes).
TO MAKE: Using cardstock, print-or-copy images that follow. If printing the color version, simply cut out images and laminate them. For the black-and-white version, color, cut out, and laminate. Optional: Mount suitcase right onto a poster, cutting a slit at the top of the suitcase to insert items as you talk about them (gluing only the sides to a poster paper so the pocket remains open). Place suitcase items on the wall next to the suitcase or around the room.
TO PACK SUITCASE: Tell children, “We are getting ready for a special day when Jesus Christ comes back to the earth. He wants us to be ready, so let’s pack our bags.”
1. Ask children one at a time to come up and find an item they could pack in their Second Coming suitcase.
2. Ask the child to read the message and talk about why this item would be important to pack (how it will prepare them to meet Jesus when He comes again), e.g., a pair of pants with patches on the knee to remind the child to “kneel in prayer.”
THOUGHT TREAT: Apple to remind children to keep the Word of Wisdom. The apple a symbol (shown above) they can pack in their Second Coming Suitcase.
SCRIPTURE TO MEMORIZE: Memorize the Acts 1:11 – “Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.”

QUESTIONS: Ask children the following:
#1: What is the Second Coming? (when Jesus Christ comes again)
#2: What will it be like when Jesus comes again? (Jesus Christ will bring peace, happiness, and love among all righteous people.)
#3: What can I do to prepare for the Second Coming when Jesus will come again? (Have faith and keep His commandments so that we will be ready to receive Him when He comes.)
