OBJECTIVE: To help the youth understand that as God’s covenant people we each have the responsibility to live the gospel and share it with others.
The activity will help them prepare for their mission. Review enrichment activity 4* in the lesson manual for which the following activity illustrates (see below).
TO FIND LESSON: Present Lesson 9 – Primary 6 Manual – Old Testament: Jehovah Makes Covenants with Abraham (below*).
ACTIVITY: Missionary Doors scripture search
Help the youth learn five ways they can prepare now to share the gospel on a full-time mission when they are older. Read the scriptures to fill in the missing words.
Answers:
• Mosiah 18:13 (keep covenants),
• D&C 38:42 (be clean),
• Acts 11:26 (go to church),
• Matthew 22:29 (study scriptures), and
• D&C 48:4 (save money).
TO MAKE Print and cut out the Missionary Doors scripture search for each youth.
THOUGHT TREAT: Door-to-Door Sandwich. Make a cream cheese sandwich (mix room temperature cream cheese with jam or jelly). Spread on bread and cut off the crust. Cut the sandwich in half. Stick a round piece of candy on the left side of the doorknob.
The youth can practice asking the golden questions: “What do you know about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? Would you like to know more?”
