OBJECTIVE: Show children that as they obey the commandments they can find happiness and stay on the path that leads to life with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

TO MAKE: Using cardstock, print or copy images that follow. If printing the color version, simply cut out images and laminate them. For the black-and-white version, color, cut out, and laminate.

Mount the images as shown on a poster or the board. Fold block and glue tabs inside.

ACTIVITY: Tell children, “We can return to our heavenly home to live with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ if we obey the commandments. By obeying the commandments, we can stay on the right path that leads to eternal life. If we get off the path, we need to repent and get back on the path. This way we will find peace and happiness and find our way back home.”

TO PLAY:
1. Divide children into two teams, giving each team an arrow marker (team #1 or team #2), placing markers at the START position.

2. Teams take turns rolling block (die) to determine the number of moves on the path. The die could also read “roll again” or “lose a turn” to determine moves.
3. Throw the die to determine who moves first (the highest number starts first).
4. Teams take turns rolling the die and moving along the path the number of spaces rolled.
5. The player reads an action on the commandment stone they land on. The player then decides if the action is obeying the commandment or disobeying.
6. If they land on an obedient action, they can continue to move toward the finish line to win. If they land on a disobedient action, they must turn their arrow around and head back toward the start line—where they will begin their next turn. Once they land on an obedient action, they can turn their arrow around so they can move toward the finish line on their next turn. If they keep traveling in the wrong direction and go all the way to START, they can turn their arrow around and begin again.
Option for Older Children: Before playing, read Mosiah 4:6 and point to the Jesus FINISH sign and explain, “Because of Jesus and His atonement, we can gain exaltation by keeping His commandments.  If we have faith in Him, we can become like Jesus and FINISH our work here on this earth.”

THOUGHT TREAT (when appropriate): Command “Mints”.  Give children/family some butter mints and tell them that Heavenly Father “mint” for us to live the commandments. This is why we were sent to earth, to prove that we can live Heavenly Father’s laws and return to Him.  Name a commandment you want to keep for every mint you eat.
