I Honor Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost (Worship Word Find)
OBJECTIVE: Help children know the roles of the Godhead and worship Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost diligently.
ACTIVITY: Worship Word Find
Read the quote from the Prophet Ezra Taft Benson (Ensign, May 1988, p. 5): “God our Father, Jesus, our Elder Brother and our Redeemer, and the Holy Ghost, the Testator, are perfect. They know us best and love us most and will not leave one thing undone for our eternal welfare.” They want us to return to them.
To Do Word Find:
1. Help children review the roles and titles of the three members of the Godhead with this backward word find puzzle.
2. Tell children that the clue words are along the sides, with letters mixed-up. Turn them around and write them in to learn whom they worship.
Answers:
• Heavenly Father: (Father, spirits, plan, world, pray)
• Jesus Christ: (brother, sin, death, savior, created, example)
• Holy Ghost: (small voice, spirit, comforter, heart, mind)
TO MAKE Print and cut out the Worship Word Find for each child.
THOUGHT TREAT: “W” Worship Cupcake. Frost a cupcake and then using frosting in a different color write the letter “W” (for worship) or “G” (for Godhead) and place three candles in the cupcake. Talk about the three personages in the Godhead: Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost (as you light each candle*). Talk about how you might worship each member.
*If presenting this in the meetinghouse you can ask youth to take cupcake home to light there and have a discussion with their family about the Godhead roles and how you can worship them.
